In Settings โ†’ Calendar, you are able to view and control three things:

  • Special Days

  • Public Holidays

  • Time of Day

Special days

If Special Days are added to the system, they can be given their own rules, mostly for contracts when applying different unsociable hours ranges. They can also be chosen for exclusions when creating client schedule entries. These are often used for particular bank holidays such as Christmas day or New Year's Day to apply an additional enhancement to an existing public holiday.

To add a Special Day, go to Settings > Calendar > Special Days and click on the + button. You can select a one-off Special Day, or set it to recur when you select the date as well.

Public Holidays

This keeps track of the scheduled public holidays for each calendar year. The list of standard public holidays will be updated by us so you don't need to add those in each year! You are unable to amend existing bank holidays, however you may create additional ones.

There may also be dates shown as substitute days. This is where a public holiday is on a set date and will fall on a weekend. The holiday carries over to the next working day (usually the Monday). If you're contracts are set to pay or charge an enhanced rate on public holidays, it will be the substitute day that will be used for those calculations.

Time of Day

The time of day refers to the default options you have when you are allocating a time range for your tasks. As a default, these are:

  • Morning - 05:00 - 11:00

  • Lunch - 11:00 - 15:00

  • Tea - 15:00 - 18:00

  • Evening 18:00 - 23:00

This section allows you to amend those if you have different specifics for times of day.
